We are excited to launch our very first annual Reverse Advent Calendar to benefit the Nolensville Food Pantry, generously sponsored by the Nolensville Market Square.
The holiday season is a time of giving, sharing, and generosity. We sat down with Debbie Noland at the Nolensville Food Pantry and wanted to learn what items are always in the highest demand. Canned goods was not her answer.
If you’ve ever done an Advent Calendar, you know that each day leading to Christmas (December 1-24th) you open a section of the calendar and reveal a small treat for the day as you count down the days to the big holiday. With a REVERSE Advent Calendar, instead of getting a treat each day, you GIVE a treat each day! In this case, you give an item to your collection box for the Nolensville Food Pantry.
We developed two lists of the most needed items; one list of food items and one list of household/hygiene items. You can get a sneak preview of those lists below.
Nolensville Food Pantry is housed within Providence Baptist Fellowship on Sunset Road and provides food and household items at no cost to Nolensville residents.
Pick Up a Box:
Boxes can be picked up from the Food Pantry or from the Round Up for Nolensville booth at the Christmas for a Cause event on November 12th
The Nolensville Market Square was generous enough to sponsor this initiative with us. Thanks to their generosity, we have been able to purchase sturdy, uniformly sized boxes with convenient handles for easy carrying. This will make collection at the Food Pantry and transferring the boxes and items much easier.
Boxes will be available for pick up on November 12th at the Christmas for a Cause event starting at 1:00 in the afternoon, just after the Veterans Day Parade.
On December 24th we will all gather at Providence Baptist Fellowship on Sunset Road (where the Food Pantry is housed) with our boxes. This will be an incredible sight to see everyone come together with the goodies they’ve collected as they’ve been counting down the days to Christmas. The time of that gathering will be determined and announced as it gets closer.
We hope you will join us this year in taking on a Reverse Advent Calendar. Here’s how you can:
1. Pick up a box and a calendar/list. Boxes will be available starting in November at the Food Pantry and on November 12th they will be available at the Round Up for Nolensville booth at the Christmas for a Cause Event starting at 1:00 pm.
2. Fill your box with the recommended items.
3. Draw, decorate or write a message on your box to the recipient.
4. Gather at Providence Baptist Fellowship on December 24th to deliver your box of goodies.

I am a Daisy troop co-leader at Sunset Elementary and would love for the girls to help participate in this giving project. Is there still boxes available to participate?? If so, I can come pick one or two up asap. Thanks! Tammie
YES! This is a great project for all of the scout troops. We have a cub scout troop also participating. We do have boxes.
If you are anywhere near Ballenger Farms there are a few boxes at 3053 Ballenger. I know there are also some at a house in Bent Creek. If that is easier for you I can get that address for you too. THANKS!
